Pepper crab kurma is one of my mom's special dish, i learned from her..we know very well that crab meat r excellent source of high quality of protein, vitamins n minerals..they r also good source of copper, calcium, iron n is very low in fat espically saturated fat..Pepper crab kurma will be very spicy, tasty n delicious..here we go..
|4 nos||Blue crab(cleaned)|
|1 no||Onion chopped finely|
|1 no||Tomato chopped finely|
|2 no||Green chilli(slightly opened)|
|2 nos||Bay leaves, cinnamon sticks n cloves|
|Salt as per taste|
|1½ T||Pepper corns(can decrease r increase)|
|1 tsp||Fennel seeds|
|1 tsp||Cumin seeds|
|1 tsp||Ginger chopped|
|1 tsp||Garlic chopped|
|¼ cup||Fresh grated coconut r dessicated coconut|
|1 tsp||Poppy seeds|
|1 pinch||Turmeric powder|
|1 tsp||Dhania powder|
|3 stks||Corainder leaves|
|5 nos||Mint leaves|
Clean the crab n keep aside, i used already cleaned frozen crabs for this recipe..grind all the ingredients from table 2 with half cup of water except the dhania powder into thick paste…heat oil in a pan, add the bay leaves, cinnamon sticks n cloves n fry them well…now add the chopped onions followed by chopped tomatoes n slightly opened green chillies…cook everything well..once they r well cooked add the grounded paste n stir continously until the raw smell goes away…now add the dhania powder n stir it well… the grounded paste will turned to thick paste, now add the cleaned crab n stir them well, the crab will turns to pink colour, its means they r cooked, add one cup of water n salt n stir them to turn as gravy(make ur gravy as ur wish, i prepared as thick gravy, so adjust ur gravy as ur wish) keep the flame in simmer n cook them for 15 minutes with the lid…once the crabs r cooked put off the stove n garnish the kurma with the chopped coriander leaves n mint leaves…if u want more spicy can add pepper powder at last….
