This may sound very odd but trust me, its one of the best. Healthy appetizer, made in minutes with just a couple of easy to find ingredients.| Ingredients | |

| 2 tsp | Rolled oats |
| 2 nos | Shallots (sambar onions) |
| 1 clove | Garlic |
| 1 tsp | Oil |
| ¼ tsp | Butter (optional) |
| ¼ cup | Milk |
| ¼ tsp | Salt |
| ½ tsp | Black pepper powder (freshly ground preferred) |
| 1 stks | Spring/green onions (finely chopped) |
| 1½ cup | Water |
Instructions
Finely mince the shallots (sambar onions) and garlic. Crush the peppercorns to a coarse powder and keep aside. Heat oil and butter in a pan and saute onion and garlic till they turn soft. Now add the rolled oats and fry along with it for few more minutes.(2 minutes) Add salt and 1/2 cup water and let boil until the oats is thoroughly cooked. (2 minutes) Add freshly ground black peppercorns, remaining 1 cup water and milk to to it and bring to a boil and switch off. (1 minute) Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.

Notes
Butter is optional, use another tsp of oil instead.
Spring onions are optional too.










just tried the soup,, it was yumm ,, for me i like it very spicy so i added green chilli in the begining ,, love the flavours overall ,, simple and easy to cook ,,

Wow! this is something new. I think it will be a very good receipe for people with cholestrol problem, if you excluded out the butter.
what r rolled oats?? can i use the usual oat meal pack which is available in the market?
