|4 tsp||Pepper and cumin powder (increase or decrease according to taste)|
|4 stks||Corriander leaves(chopped finely )|
|1 strands||Curry leaves|
|1 no||Onion medium ( chopped finely)|
|3 clove||Garlic (crushed)|
|¼ cup||Toor dhal|
|4 nos||Tomato (big)|
|1 tsp||Turmeric powder|
|1½ tsp||Garam masala|
|Salt (can decrease or increase depending on your taste)|
Pressure cook the toor dhal with turmeric powder. keep aside.
Blanch the tomato, remove the skin and make a puree out of it. keep it ready.
Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion, garam masala and curry leaves , fry till brown .Then add blanched tomato , garlic , toor dhal and little water to get soup consistency.
This soup should be little watery.
Boil it nicely till tomato changes its colour . Add the pepper powder and salt .( if u need the soup to be very hot then add pepper powder according to ur taste.)
If the tomatoes used is not tangy then we can use full one lemon . if it is tangy enough then we can add just 2 tsp of lemon juice to the soup.
garnish with corrainder and serve it with steaming rice and potato curry , appalam.
This soup is very easy and tasty too .
- Mash toor dhal well before adding to the soup. we can grind the toor dhal in to paste and add to the soup.
- lemon is optional. if u want more tangy flavour then we shall add the lemon juice.
