Coriander pulao

Description

A simple pulao using coriander leaves and spices.
Ingredients-1
1 bunch Coriander leaves
1 inch Ginger
3 clove Garlic
3 nos Green chilli
1 T Cumin seeds
1 T Coconut flakes
Ingredients-2
1 cup Basmati or sona masoori rice
2 cup Water
1 no Onion finely chopped
1 no Tomato fnely chopped
1 no Potato cubed
1 inch Cinnamon
2 nos Cardamom
2 nos Cloves
1 tsp Salt or as per taste
2 T Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice and soak it for 10 minutes.
  2. Grind all the ingredients from group 1 to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, temper cinnamon,cloves and cardamom.
  4. Add in the onions and fry them till golden brown.
  5. Next add the chopped tomatoes and fry them for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the potatoes and continue frying for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Now add the ground paste and cook for another 5 minutes till the raw smell disappears.
  7. Add rice along with water and salt. Cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.
  8. Serve hot. Tastes great with raita and potato chips.

Notes

Coriander leaves can also be substituted with mint leaves.
