Ingredients
2filletSalmon
1tablespoonOilany cooking oil
1teaspoonMayonnaise
1tablespoonLemon juice
1/2teaspoonCayenneuse paprika for mild flavor
1/2teaspoonGarlic powderor replace it with fresh minced garlic
1/2teaspoonBlack Pepper powder
1/2teaspoonSalt
1teaspoonBlack Pepper powder for crust
Instructions
Pat your salmon filets dry on both sides with a paper towel. Same size fillet will help with even cooking and browning.
In a bowl, mix oil, mayonnaise, lemon juice, cayenne powder, garlic powder, black pepper powder and salt to make a thick marinade.
Apply the paste all over the salmon fillet coating it evenly.
Again sprinkle additional black pepper powder over the top and press gently. ( this is give a thick crust over the top exterior)
Preheat air fryer to 400F for 3 minutes.
Place the fillet skin side down into the fryer basket.
Cook for a total of 10 minutes at 400F. Cook time may vary, depending on the size and thickness of your fillets. Mine were about 1.5 inch thick in the biggest part. Check after 5 minutes, brush with some oil / spray cooking oil for a crispy exterior and continue to cook for another 5 minutes or until thoroughly done.
Serve immediately with choice of sides. We enjoyed it with steamed spinach and seasoned rice!
