Short Grain Boiled rice is called Puzhangal Arisi in Tamil. Boiled and Par-boiled is often confused and almost considered the same. But there's a small difference in the processing style, you can read more on this topic here. Glad to see this product recently in most Indian stores and thought would be a great solution and substitute for Idli rice. Look for Ponni Boiled rice (Ponni Puzhungal arisi) (Dakshin Brand) in your local Indian store… they come only in 20lbs and cost around $27 to $30.
Ever since I tried the "My Dhaba" (Punjabi style restaurant, Radhakrishnan Salai, Chennai) biryani, my craving started more for Sindhi style foods. Usually their style biryani is kind of strong flavoured, pale greenish.. due to herbs and spices and moreover inclusion of sour yogurt makes them slightly pungent. Here is my attempt in matching one of their mint chicken style biryani.

Fasting in the month of Ramzan is compulsory for every Muslim who has reached the age.There is a meal before dawn, which is called 'Suhur'.In the evening immediately after the sunset, the Muslim should break his fast which is called 'Ifthar', When one of you breaks fast he should do so with some dates, And in our home with the dates we used to break fast with this Conjee and vadai (masala vadai or medhu vadai) and with some fruit juice too.. As this is a month of ramzan and i just want to share with u all.
This is a Khichdi made in my family for breakfast. We call it paruppu saadham at home. It has got a lovely flavour and i like it when it is hot. My grandma adds a tomato whereas i don’t.
