This is a tangy and spicy Chutney made out of Mint leaves, corriander leaves ..really tastes yummy with dosa,idly and pulav.
|Handfull of mint leaves[washed and cleaned]|
|Handfull of corriander leaves[washed and cleaned]|
|1 no||Green chilly[adjust as per preference]|
|1 tsp||Tamarind paste|
|½||Onion (chopped) (for grinding)|
|4 inch||Coconut (finely chopped)[optional]|
|Mustard seed (for tempering)|
|½ tsp||Urad dal|
|Few curry leaves|
|Oil as required|
1.Coconut is optional.you can take off coconut and add half tomato [raw] and grind it.
2.do not put the thick stalks of corriander leaves as it would make the chutney bitter
Although this recipe has equal quantity of corriander leaves and mint leaves, the mint leaves flavour dominates the chutney and thats the reason the chutney is named Pudhina Chutney.
