Green peas cooked in thick onion tomato gravy.

| 1 cup | Fresh green peas |
| 2 nos | Onion (finely chopped) |
| 2 nos | Tomato (finely chopped or crushed) |
| 1 tsp | Ginger garlic paste |
| 3 pinch | Turmeric powder |
| 2 tsp | Red chilli powder |
| 3 tsp | Coriander /dhania powder |
| ½ tsp | Cumin powder |
| 1 tsp | Salt (or to taste) |
| 5 tsp | Oil |
| ¼ tsp | |
| ¼ tsp | |
| ¼ tsp | Split black gram |
| 5 nos | Curry leaves (optional) |
| 3 stks | Coriander leaves (for garnishing) |
Instructions
Heat oil in wide pan, add mustard, cumin seeds, split black gram and curry leaves. When it pops add onions and ginger garlic paste . Fry them until golden and crisp. Add chopped tomatoes along with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Fry until the masala turns brown and thick. Now add the green peas and cook for few minutes until becomes soft and just tender. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or roti. 
Notes
Frozen green peas can also be used. Soak the frozen green peas in a bowl filled with cold water to thaw. Wash and then use it for cooking.
