Description

This kind of fish kuzhambu is generally made in nagercoil (Kanyakumari district) ...

Ingredients-1
½ kg

Fish (vanjaram, palm firt,paarai,sheela)

Ingredients-2
½ cup

Coconut (grated)

25 g

Black pepper

2 tsp

Red chilli powder

1 tsp

Coriander powder

6 nos

Small onions

6 clove

Garlic

1 Lemon Sz

Tamarind

10 nos

Curry leaves

Instructions

clean the fish and marinate it with needed salt and 2 tsp turmeric powder ... 

Add 3 tsp of oil in a kadai and fry coconut,black pepper, garlic cloves,onion, curry leaves ... fry until the coconut turns dark brown in color ... dont fry in high flame ...

add tamarind to above mixture and grind to a smooth paste (no coarse particles).. u can add water if needed ...

 add 1 tsp oil in a pan .. after its heated add the paste , water (4 cups), marinated fish... allow the contents to boil (15-20 min) until the fish gets cooked well ..
