|3 strands||Corriander leaves|
|1 cup||Toor dal|
Cook the toor dal in a pressure cooker. Add 2 .5 cups of water for 1 cup of dal.
Cut the ripe tomatoes into long pieces, peel the garlic cloves and cut the green chillies.
Add a little oil to tava and heat. Add a little urad dal, some musturd seeds, asafetida. then add the tomatoes, garlic and corriender leaves. After a couple of mins, add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt. Sprinkle some water and leave it closed.
Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the cooked dal along with the extra water, and simmer.Keep stiring so that it doesnt get burnt.
Garnish with corriender leaves before serving.
