Tips to maintain Cooker Gasket

Hi People

I have a cooker gasket which seems to be ok, but when i cook something it gives lots of noise that is really scary...heard that if we keep the gasket in the freezer for sometime and use it, it will work well....i tried that too..Here in this country where i live, getting cooker gasket is highly impossible. Soi f anyone of u know how to maintain cooker gasket ,pls lemme know.Thanx in advance.

Hi Sadhana,
When you are finshed cooking, avoid putting the cooker lid along with gasket in the sink for a long time. Remove the gasket and wash it when u can.

Sadhana,
To maintain gasket life in my experience I have learnt not to do the following:
1. Do not remove the weight prematurely before all the steam escapes
2.Do not pour water on top of the cooker so that you can open the cooker soon.

If the above measures are taken, the life of the gasket is longer than usual.

there is something called 'silicone gasket' available in india. it has 5 yr warranty and doesnt sog at all

Sadhana, Keep ur gasket in

Sadhana, Keep ur gasket in Freezer, it will get freezed and become hard. It won't lose its elastic. While you use just show under the tap water, it will reach the room temperature and u're good to use.

I'm using the same gasket for 3 years. It works fine for me. Some mixie jar has Gasket, you could follow the same.

Keep ur gasket in fridge after using ur cooker,this will help to keep ur gasket for years..am doing this since long back,last time my gasket helped me a lot upto one n half year without any problem(am using cooker everyday).
This is from my experience..
