only doing exercise the abdomen won't reduce we want to be in diet also.while feeding baby we shouldn't not be there on diet.once we start other foods to baby we can start diet plan.really its work

I was facing the same problem,i have a 8 months old baby. now i have reduced my tummy, ...its getting tightened, and fit.
i bought an exercise ball from walmart(sports good section- for around $10), and it contains a chart, we can just follow that chart ,its easy and very effective.

what i do is - i go to gym everydaY(atleast 5 days in a week), and run on the treadmill for 30mins - non stop, and i come back , cool down, and do the stretches for abs...many gyms also have this exericse ball.

I am wondering what kind of exercise would be very effective to reduce belly after delivery. My son is turing one year now. My wife is very much concerned about her belly since it hasn't become normal. Please let me know what kind of excercise and diet would help her reduce her belly?

Mano,
It is normal to have belly fat after pregnancy. We have to reduce the fat in the whole body first, which will gradually reduce the fat in the belly as well. Once the fat in the belly reduces then the belly naturally shrinks due to loss of fat. After considerable fat is reduced, you will have loose sagging skin in the belly area for which you can do abdominal excercises to tighten the muscle and firm it up.

So the point is to reduce the weight by exercising, maintaining healthy low cal diet and also doing abodominal exercises regularly.
Here is a website which shows animated abs exercises. This was very useful to me and is good. The first five exercises are very effective in reducing upper and lower abdomen.

If you do not have time to do cardio workouts you can regularly practice these exercises for best results. Start with 10 reps per day and increase 1 reps per day gradually. It worked wonders for me.

Hi mano,
Even i faced this problem..My suggestion is you can wear postpartum belt..tie it as tight as you can around your abdomen everyday for atleast 2hrs..chk for the correct size when you buy the belt.
you get them in Babies'r'us and in walmart too.....hope this will help you.

                   Belt is a good idea only in the first month after delivery. after 9 months it will give only pain rather than tightening the muscle. the only solution for this problem is regular abdominal exercise. only exercise helped me to reduce the belly after my c-section. first the exercises will be little painful. but if u follow regularly it creates wonders.
