donot worry if you donot have the strong skills like analytical, domain etc..etc..as one of the user has said. you need to know nothing, just a couple of months training and some communication skill to say you know everything and you will get a job.trust me , its not that difficult at all. good luck

Hai All,
I'm working as a senior developer in Detroit,MI. I would like to tell that QA is one of the lightest(less stress) career we could do.
I would recommend QA to be ladies career once they have kids.
People from Non-IT background can also enter into QA world. It's quite simple.
In my team we have QA peole with diff. backgrounds like military, navy, non-IT engineers.
All the best to all fiends!!
Does anyone have experience
Does anyone have experience studying this in a particular centre in detroit...Is it worth studying this in centres or can we study & make it by ourselves..
I know that there r lots of centre listing in websites like miindia & sulekha...but getting to know your personal experience with a particular centre will be much worth...so if anyone does have it, pls share ur experience..

Mullai,
Usually people from non IT background get into testing since this does not require IT backgorund. There are many institutes which offer training and place consultants as well.
Refer sulekha, MIINDIA, Dice, monster for training/job oppurtunities. Hope this helps.
Hi Mullai, Just want to
Hi Mullai,
Just want to know i have my experience in the field of networking & iam CCNA certified. if i move my career towards testing will it be advantage for me.
Please advice
QA Testing has 2 broad
QA Testing has 2 broad categories - Automation Testing, Manual Testing. Automation testing requires programming knowledge whereas manual testing does require only the basic computer knowledge. In general, QA tester has the following skills
- Analytical skills
- Strong attitude in finding bugs/defects
- Knowledge of programming concepts (OOPS, DB etc - added advantage as it helps to recognize programming defects, perform automation testing)
- Domain (means banking, finance, healthcare, Data warehousing, Life science, Insurance etc)
I'm a QA tester with IT background. I started as an entry level tester. I have many colleagues from non-IT background also who are much experienced. Pressure is less in testing field when compared to development which is better for the ladies. Anyone can learn software testing and a person from non-IT background can start up as a manual tester.
All the best! Thanks to Mullai for posting this topic!
Regards,
Ramya
Anyone can take the QA
Anyone can take the QA training Mullai, education background need not be something related to computers/engineering. Its pretty easy compared to studying networking courses like CCNA, or development like java etc.. But ,everything depends on the teacher, who should be very encouraging rather than pushing the students to finish the course soon ,so that they can be placed in some job..
