I would like to suggestSubmitted by anithashankar on Wed, 07/09/2008 - 11:38pm.
I would like to suggest with try putting her in a few hours per week schedule for the first month or atleast few hours per day schedule. Many schools offer tuesday and thursday only on every week for 2 to 3 hours. This is called two day/week schedule, also I would like to recommend school type environments over daycare type environments, when you choose the care facility. Schools have a fixed schedule where they would do story time, circle time, small group activities where each teacher of the class spends time with a small group of children alone for say 20 minutes or so,and they may have free outdoor play time ,snack time, academics etc.. Day care facilties include some of these but not all. Every kid goes through the crying phase, some for days, some for months..mine didnot cry at the first week as every toy and friends were new ,but started crying from second week onwards..so it varies . Also try to teach small english words a month or atleast weeks before putting her in school such as 'pee pee' for number one and 'poo poo' for number 2 and 'I am Hungry' , 'I need water' etc..It will be a easy for the kids if they knew these words when they start school. First day , stay with the kid for some time, along with her during story time and let her go all by herself alone to check out the toys in the classroom leaving you, then say goodbye to her and leave, never sneak out of the classroom with out telling her.Wait outside if possible,if crying is uncontrollable or you are too scared to let her cry like that ,bring her back home. Second day stay with her at school when she starts crying but don't take her back home. The teacher might help you with several ideas too, kids will eventually start liking school once they learn that mommy will be back soon ;-)..Good luck! » reply
