Description
This is just like potato masala. We make this with curry powder and chilli powder. It can be served with warm roti, puri, pittu, string hoppers, bread & thosai. Moreover, this pirattal can be used as stuffing to make cutlets, ponda, toasted sandwich, stuffed egg & etc.

| 1 T | Gingelly oil |
| Mustard seeds | |
| Fennel seeds (perum serakam) | |
| 10 nos | Small onions (cut lengthwise) |
| 6 nos | Green chilli (chopped) |
| 6 nos | Curry leaves |
| 1 no | Medium size tomato (chopped) |
| 1 tsp | Garlic paste |
| ¼ slice | Ginger paste |
| 5 nos | Potatoes |
| 1 tsp | Meat curry powder |
| ½ tsp | Chilli powder |
| 2 pinch | Black pepper powder |
| Salt for taste | |
| Lime for taste |
Instructions
Boil the potatoes & slice them into small cubes. Keep it aside. Heat oil and splutter mustard & fennel seeds. Add chopped onions and saute till the raw smell goes away. Now add tomato, green chillies, curry leaves, ginger & garlic and sauté till the raw smell goes away. Add meat curry powder, chilli powder & pepper powder and fry till the raw smell of chilli powder goes away. Add potato & lime and cook for 3 to 5 mins.

Notes
Do not pour cold water to boiled potato. It hardens the potatoes. Just let it cool down itself.
You can add more tomato if you dont like to use lime
Instead of chilli powder and curry powder, add turmeric powder for potato masala.

Can i prepare this curry with out meat curry powder? or can i substitute any other ingredients instead?
