Description
Green bean is a high protien food. For curry, bean must be cooked with some other vegetables. It goes well with potato. This dish by itself can accompany with steaming hot rice, warm roti, pittu, string hoppers, bread, thosai & etc

| 1 T | Gingelly oil |
| Mustard seeds | |
| Funnel seeds (perumjeeragam) | |
| 10 nos | Small onions (cut lengthwise) |
| 6 nos | Green chili (slit open) |
| ½ no | Garlic (crushed) |
| 6 nos | Curry leaves |
| 2 nos | Tomato (chopped) |
| 3 nos | Potatoes (peeled & cut) |
| 100 g | Green beans (chopped) |
| 100 ml | Low fat coconut milk |
| 1 T | Meat curry powder |
| 1 tsp | Chilli powder |
| ¼ tsp | Black pepper powder |
| 1 pinch | Cumin seed powder |
| Salt for taste |
Instructions
Heat oil & slightly toast mustard, & fennel seeds. Fry chopped onion till the raw smell goes away. Then saute green chillies, tomato, garlic paste & curry leaves. Add meat curry powder, chilli powder & pepper powder and sauté for a min in low flame. Add potato cubes and pour water till it covers them. Add beans when potato is half cooked.
Add coconut milk & bring it to boil when potato & beans are cooked well. Add cumin seed powder & salt and reduce the flame to low once the curry starts boiling. Cook till the curry thickens as shown in the picture.
Notes
Lime can be added instead of tomato.
These thick curries may used as fillings when toasting sandwiches.
Can reduce the amount of garlic for you taste. At home mom uses one whole garlic for a curry as we eat curries with rice not rice with curries.
