    mullai ma’am just prepared two kinds of podi one is ur version and the other one is kaviarun’s methi podi for hair…Both came out well and tastes awesome. In addition i just added 1/2 tsp of asafoetida to enhance the flavour.

    Hiiiiiii Mam, I made this.. I saw the ingredients differ from radha akka's recipe…So just made it…The taste & appearance were different & also AWESOME…. Now we got two kindda paruppu podi & one idli milakai podi in our kitchen…. Is kara podi is different frm idli milaka podi btw… Looking for that podi too if its different.. Anyways Thank you so much for those podis as it will help ppl livin in semenyih woods…

      Ohh..This recipe is already posted is it??I had never checked it..There were few request posted under my bisi bele bath for paruppu podi and so I happened to post it directly without checking out the site..Anyway's as u said two different varieties are available now..

        Radha,

        This is Andhra style podi, whereas the one you posted, is typical Tamilian version. Glad to have both, might be helpful to all members.

      Kara Podi is a common term, each region has its own style and definition. It literally means Chili powder in my region and ofcourse will taste blunt  with idli or dosai.  

      Kara Podi – Red chili powder

      Idli Milagai Podi – For idli, dosai and upma

      Paruppu Podi – for rice

      My version of paruppu podi is used as a side for tiffin items too in Andhra, so personal preference also plays a major part. Choice is yours.
