Egg plant – 2-4 nos.
Red chilli – 5-6 nos.
Tamarind – 1 spoon
Uradh dhal – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.
Wash the egg plant and steam it in the cooker. (wait for 2 hiss) . Allow it to cool and peel of the skin . keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and fry redchilli and urdhal dhal until golden brown. allow it to cool. Grind the egg plant along with the
red chilli and tamarind with little water . Add salt and uradh dhal.
This thuvayal is very tasty when served with hot rice and ghee.
note: Adding Asafoetida will give a nice flavor.
