This is thanjavur based recipe,and this is the favourite podi of my entire family.
|12 nos||Dry red chilli|
|3 nos||Small garlic|
|2 tsp||Coriander seeds|
|Salt (as per taste)|
|2 tsp||Gingelly oil|
Take a pan and pour 1 tsp ofgingelly oil( or refined) and roast the dry chillies for not more than 1minute, transfer it to a plate and keep aside.
Likewise,pour the remaining 1tsp oil 2 roast the coriander seeds just for 2 minute(sense the smell) under low flame.
do not peel the garlic,it will add extra taste to the podi
Now grind the roasted red chillies almost to 95% and then add coriander seeds ,garlic and grind well.Add the salt as required.
Transfer the content and serve.This can be used as an alternative for chutney's.It goes good with idli and dosai.But it is too chilly and spicy, so ulcer patients can't have this.
