ya sona masoori costs tooSubmitted by jeyalakshmi on Fri, 09/26/2008 - 12:04pm.
ya sona masoori costs too much now. Even then there was no 20 lbs bag in patel brothers last week. Does anyone know the reason for this scarcity? Which rice in local grocery stores tastes similar to Indian rice? Please advice. » reply
Jeya, i tried coupleSubmitted by Cappuccino on Fri, 09/26/2008 - 12:12pm.
Jeya, i tried couple of brands (sample size) Garbanzo and so...... it wasn't good. If luckily the sample size were good and if we go for bigger pack definitely it won't be similar...So be aware of it. Its my experience. 2 buckets of rice were sleeping in my pantry...Donno what to do... No other way than sona masoori, even if they sell 20 lbs for $100 we need to buy... Have a great day » reply

Gold vida vilai athigamSubmitted by jlakshmi on Mon, 09/29/2008 - 5:07pm.
Gold vida vilai athigam mathiri irukku .. Last week 20 lbs Ravi Brand Sona Masoori Rice 20lbs at kumud groceries, Cupertino, CA was $49.99 ( with 5 $ discount), I was shocked at the counter . Many shops don't have them even. I heard in SUN TV news here that the export ban on rice has been removed, this may give a bit relief hopefully soon.
