Hi Friends, Making wax at

Hi Friends, Making wax at home is really a good idea. One has to be very careful about the temperature before applying because i tried this way back when i was in college with a suggestion from a friend. During college days trying new things was a fancy. The procedure was followed perfectly but i applied it a little warm b'cos of which i have scar even today. So be very careful & do it at peace with no disturbance of anykind. Happy waxing. Regards Mohana kumaran

In my experience, waxing is

In my experience, waxing is the best way to remove hair on hands, legs and armpits. No other way will leave your skin, smooth and soft and also the hair growth will be slower. Ofcourse its time-consuming and a little messy. But I feel its worth the time and energy.

Arthi Hi Friends,Apart

Arthi

Hi Friends,Apart from Waxing, epilators  and hair removal creams,if u want that hairs to be removed permanently, u can prefer herbal way. If u are going to India, u can take all these herbal stuffs, that really works. Hope every one knows about turmeric. Turmeric powder is a very good hair removal/softening product. Some people may not know about this herb "Kuppaimeni elai" (Name is not attractive right, huh??)This is available in some herbal store/Nattu marundhi kadai/kadhi craft in powdered form. First apply turmeric, let it dry and wash it off. Then apply the Kuppaimeni powder and let it dry and wash it. By doing this regularly, u will lose ur hairs in your body naturally, ur skin will also get colour and smoothness. It is a proven one. The thing is Turmeric acts as a softener and softens our skin, Kupaimeni acts as a remover. You can also use this for removing hairs above ur lips. This is a very good treatment. This is permanent way of removing your hair. (U can apply for ur daughters from now itself, so that they will not have hairs on hands and legs.)my cousins and myself have been using waxing creams for removing hair, but after a couple of days, our skin goes dark. I learned this herbal treatment from a patti and TV show. This really works, U can do this during ur weekends. This is my suggestion. You can trust this herbal treatment. Really good.

Mullai, I would say in my

Mullai,
I would say in my experience waxing is the best especially for underarms, upper lip, chin, hands and legs.
Especially for underarms do not shave. The whole area becomes black and regrows faster and spoils the skin texture.
All the commercial hair removal products just remove hair from surface and hair regrows faster and thicker, but in waxing the hair is removed from root and considerably the regrowth time is less.
For black heads you may use black head removal strips and use scrubber one a week only in nose area.

Panasonic vs Braun epilator

Panasonic vs Braun epilator system has good rating and reviews, any suggestions???

I think waxing is the best

I think waxing is the best way to remove unwanted hair in hands, legs and underarms. But creams though give best results , but does not last long as per my experience. Razors are big no no as far as i know.

Here is my question, can

Here is my question, can someone help??? Which is the best Epilator system available in market?? Suggest a good brand in affordable range. I can shell out $60.

Epilators are handy and

Epilators are handy and easier than the messy waxing way ! but did you know that the wax gives a smoother effect on ur skin than epilators or razors ?? You can make wax at home. For approx 300gms of sugar , add one full lime [without seeds] with littlewater. approximately 250 - 300 ml of water and mix well and place in the stove in sim  until the sugar fully dissolves. as sugar is fully dissolved, keep in high flame until the wax starts bubbling OR when a drop of wax is put in cold water, it shd form into a ball. UR HOME MADE WAX IS READY TO USE !! Apply powder before waxing and ice and moisturiser after waxing. Keep me informed :) rgds/malu

Hi Cooky, I have been

Hi Cooky, I have been searching how to make wax for a long time. Thank God someone could help me. Can you please explain in detail. I mean how much to boil the water, when to add the sugar n lime in it? Approximately how long to boil and how to store it? Can we use it right away?

Readymade wax in the Indian stores are always expensive. It will be nice if I could make at home.

HI manju, Its very easy

HI manju,

Its very easy yaar. For approx 300 gms of sugar you can add 300-500ml of water and one full lime and mix well and place in stove. Due to the heat the sugar dissolves. While you put a drop of the wax in cold water if it forms a globule [ as we make halwa] it is finished and oh yes you can use it immediately after its thawed , [ dont burn ur hands hehe] Store it in a closed container prefarably inside a bowl of water to avoid ants and no expiry for it.

HOpe this helps. Cooky

My most searched

My most searched question's answer is here. Thanks a lot Cooky and Mullai.

A few questions if you don't mind-

1.Can you please measure all the quantities in terms of a 160ml cup?

2.Will the wax harden after its preparation?

3.How much will the given quantity yield?

4.Can the left over wax be re used?

5.At what ideal temperature should the wax be applied?

6.Should we consistently maintain it at one temperature range untilthe waxing procedure is complete?

7.Anything else we should be concerned about?

Would appreciate if you could answer each of the questions separately.

Thanks much.

Raech, I have tried to

Raech,

I have tried to answer all ur queries. feel free to ask for more.

1. For 300gms of sugar you need one full lime and 300ml - 500 ml water.

2. Yes the wax may harden but defenitely not as hard as rock,  it wud have a very thick consistency. This can be loosened while warming it.

3. The quantity you yield for 300gms sugar is approximately quarter to half a kg wax.

4. Leftover wax can be reused by the same person [ if there are no hair particles]

5.Ideal temperature is wat the body can bear !!

6. Not necessarily .

7. Before applying wax , generously apply talcum powder on body parts and apply wax upto the temperature that is called lukewarm. Dont burn your body dear

Cooky

My measurement,

One 160ml cup of sugar

Dissolve it in 100ml of water

Squeeze in half a lime

Allowed to melt on a low flame and then thickened it on high flame until a drop of syrup formed a globule in water.

Thanks a lot.
