|1 cup||Non flat plain yogurt|
|1 cup||Lowfat buttermilk|
|1 tsp||Lemon juice|
|1 tsp||Onion powder|
|1 tsp||Garlic powder|
|1 T||Chives finely chopped|
|Salt (as per taste)|
For Ranch dressing :
Normally for ranch dressing we have to use greek style yogurt , if u r using plain nonfat yogurt place it in a stainer put a cheesecloth and place a stainer over the bowl and let the yogurt drain for 15 minutes, Now take a bowl mix all the ingredients from List II(buttermilk, mayonnaise , lemon juice, onion powder , garlic powder, chopped fresh chives ) with the strained yogurt and add salt according to ur taste.
Now ur ranch dressing is ready , if u r not interested to prepare dressing at home u can get the readymade dressing at stores like Ranch /thousand island ……..
Now take a bowl and add onion (cut lengthwise )carrot, cucumber, tomato,lettuce ,romaine hearts , crouton (its a small piece of rebaked bread )and drizzle ur ranch dressing and cheese (optional) and enjoy…..yummy healthy salad in 5minutes ..
