Hello DDD, yes you can… just that you will miss the rich butter flavor but will work for the recipe. Try using vegetable oil instead of butter. Thanks, pls send a click when you make it!

Hi Mullai Akka, Tried this recipe. Asusual amazing :):) Esplly wth walnuts (my fav.) it jst disappeared like anythng. Actually , I have a question for ask you akka.. After knowing that yeast would give us a good soft and fluffy rotis, I got into a habit of adding a tsp of yeast while preparing the dough for rotis. We make rotis every alternatve days. So my doubt is.. Is yeast good for health if consumed at regular basis??

Ron, I don't know whether yeast is good or bad but too much of anything is not that good for your health. Soft chappatis can be made using warm water really dont need the help of yeast. Your goal is to take healthy food so avoid taking too much of yeast. Thanks.

This recipe will not suit for microwave, you will need a conventional oven. BTW, pls do a search for the other question, it has been discussed many times.

    Mullai,

I thought usually bread is made with yeast and if we add baking powder and baking soda, then its called cake..but its not so here in this recipe…any idea, why? Just wondering how this recipe will turn out if I add yeast instead of baking powder and soda…
