Steaming Kuzhambu: Steaming Kuzhambu

A Dried Fish Kuzhambu , I have used Anchovies here. I guess you can use any Dried fish.

Ingredients-1
3 tsp

Coriander seeds

1 tsp

Cumin

1 tsp

Pepper corns

2 nos

Small onions

1 cup

Grated coconut

1 MarbleSz

Tamarind ( marble size)

3 nos

Dry chillie

Ingredients-2

Dried fish

Ingredients-3

Green chilles

1 tsp

Chilli podwer

1 tsp

Turmeric powder

3 clove

Garlic (cut thin strips)

1 tsp

Oil (for sauting)

1 tsp

Fenugreek seeds

Instructions

1. Dry roast all ingredients from table-1 (Dry Chilly, Coriander seeds, cumin, pepper corns and coconut) .

2. Grind them together with tamarind and onions.

3. Soak the dried fish and wash them thoroughly. Dried Fish (washed): Dried Fish (washed)

4. In a kadai, add oil and temper with fenugreek seeds and add chopped onions , garlic gloves and slitted green chillies from table-3.

5. Then add chopped tomatoes

6. After 3 minutes add the dried fish with salt and cook for 4 minutes.

7. Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder and the ground masala and bring to a nice boil with water to a gravy consistency.

8. Keep stirring until you get a nuce kuzhambu consistency and then add coriander leaves. Steaming Kuzhambu: Steaming Kuzhambu Serve hot with plain Rice .

Notes

Anchives are dried Nethili fish, u can get them at chinese stores or even Indian stores.

umm.. parkavey nalla iruku.. my hubby likes dried fish.. but i don know how to cook that.. let me try this..one more doubt mam.. Can we add any type of dried fish or any specific type..

You can add any type of dried fish, I have just used Nethili fish here, But when u make with big dried fishes,be careful when stirring not to break those fish pieces, that's all.
