Curd rice can be eaten with pickles only. It tastes good with mango pickle.
|1 cup||Cooked basmathi rice.|
|1 no||Bombay onion (big one)|
|5 nos||Chilli (morre millakai/dried red chilli)|
|1 pinch||Mustard seeds|
|1 tsp||Pepper powder|
|½ litre||Curd / yoghurt|
Few recipes turn out well if you figure out few things by yourself.
Put the cooked basmathi rice into a big bowl. Fry onion, garlic, and ginger. Add pepper powder when they fried well. Then add to the rice. Fry chilli (more millakai)with mustard seeds.Fry until they turn into black and mix into the rice.Mix some salt with curd and stir it well.Add this curd to rice until you feel that is enough for rice.
You can even add all those fried stuff into curd & mix with rice and keep the rice cooker in warm mode for 5 mins.
You can just add curd with salt to rice without other mixing stuffs. Just stir curd and salt well before adding. thats all. You will get pure white curd rice.
Turmeric powder can be added when adding pepper if you like to make it into yellow colour
All you need is, you have to figure out the amount of curd by yourself than following others recipe.Always keep much curd beside you when making curd rice.
