|1 cup||Coconut grated|
|1 tsp||Mustard seeds|
|1 no||Onion ( chopped)|
|1 tsp||Chilli powder|
|1 tsp||Cumin powder|
|1 cup||Corriander and mint leaves [for garnishing]|
|1 tsp||Corrainder powder|
|1 tsp||Pepper corns (crushed)|
|2 no||Bay leaves|
|1 no||Cinnamon stick|
Marinade the chicken with all the ingredients in 1.
Heat oil in a pan , and roast the poppy seeds until they are slightly coloured .now add the coconut and saute for 2 mins.
Let them cool completely . put the roasted poppy seeds , coconut along with mustard seeds in a foddprocessor and make a fine paste by adding little water.
In a heavy bottomed pan, add oil .
Add bayleaves, cinnamon,cloves . now add green chillies ,onion and saute .
add g.g paste , tomato and saute til the tomato becomes tender.now add the paste , chilli powder,corriander powder,cumin powder ,salt and aloow it to cook for few mins . now add the chicken , corriander & mint leaves ,just saute for a while till the chicken gets mixed with all the ings. now add water .cover and simmer till chicken is tender . add the crushed pepper and simmer for another 5-6 mins. garnish ith corriander & serve with rice, idlli or dosa.
if u need dry chicken roast just cook the chicken along with the paste without adding water.
