you can boil milk in pyrex french jugs. you shuld use a bigger jug for heating milk so that u can avoid spilling of milk. more over if u need to boil milk for 8 min that is,till raw smell goes...then u need to stand nearby the microwave and stop it once the milk is boiling and once again switch it on in orderto avoid spilage.

my mom always used 2 boil milk in microwave everyday... she used to put the milk for 3:30 mins. then again in low power for another 3:30. this is for 1/2 ltr milk. But it depends on the microwave u use and the bowl. As Sugan says Pyrex is always good. Mom used to boil in Pyrex and u can use ceramic bowls which can be used in microwave.

I use pyrex measuring cup(narrow) to boil milk, Manoo. Very comfi.I heard from some of the friends and I experienced, too, that milk never spills in microwave. Sorry that I have no clues about what's going wrong. When you see the froth, it's done. You can go ahead.

Manoo, You better boil the milk using wide corningware bowl or use stoneware. So that you can avoid scratching the vessel if u use corningware or stoneware just a rinsing is enough if u use these bowls.

Also for the first time when u boil the milk look at the time how long will it take to boil until the froth comes-out of the bowl. And then use the same mins and same bowl to boil the milk. It depends, if u use a room temperature milk and the cold milk comes to boil, time may vary.

Enjoy ur milk without spilling it out.
