Boiled Egg Fry – how to make quick boiled egg fry using garlic. Boiled Eggs are one quick side for any dish… be it biryani or regular rice, roti or even bread. We at home make this spicy garlicky flavored dry egg fry which goes very well with samabr sadam or rice sadam … weeknight dinners mostly include simple quick sides like these which can be made under 20 minutes. I have listed a few other versions of egg fry, do try and let me know under comments.
- Boiled Egg – 5 (cut them into half)
- Garlic – 10 cloves (crushed)
- Red Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon (spicy variety)
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Water – 1 tablespoon
Lets see how to make this Garlicky Boiled Egg Fry…….
Heat oil in a kadai…. add crushed garlic, red chilli powder and salt.
Fry them over low flame till the garlic gets fried and cooks well…. Pls make sure the flame is low… otherwise your chili powder will get burned.
Add in the water after the garlic gets cooked to crisp.
Now add the boiled eggs to it… place cut side down.
Apply pressure with your hands to coat the masala… just shake the pan if you don’t want to touch. Give them a nice back massage 😀
Let this cook over low flame …. Try our SPICY EGG MASALA USING RAW ONIONS
After a while the oil will get frothy and masala gets attached to the eggs… also the outer layer gets fried a bit and gets crisps. You may flip to coat on the other side too.
Switch off and that garlicky flavored egg fry is ready to be served. Goes very well with sambar, rasam or curd rice. Perfect for lunch box sides for any mild pulao or biryani too. I like to just sandwich between a bread and eat for breakfast.
- Makes 10 half cuts.
- You may add curry leaves or coriander for garnish..but may over power the garlic flavor… hence better to avoid.
