Aval (Sweet)

Description

A very simple method from SL. We dont cook aval; Instead we just mix it with other ingredients.

Ingredients
1 cup

Aval (flaked rice/poha) - 160ml cup

1½ tsp

Fresh grated coconut

1½ T

Sugar

1 pinch

Cardamom powder

Instructions

Wash aval with warm water. Squeeze the water completely from aval. Add sugar, coconut & cardamom. Mix well & serve with sliced banana.

 


Notes

Jaggery can be shredded & used instead of sugar. In fact original version contains jaggery.

Milk can be added instead of coconut. Add half a cup of milk & serve.

I am cant stand the smell of jaggery; so stick with sugar.

This is how we make aval. We use jaggery. Few make with sugar too. Just posted as its easy. Passi paruppu may taste good. good for health too. But again, amma nvr used it as we dont like.. :(:(:( anyways thanks for the tips cutie
